World Toilet Day 2026
World Toilet Day, celebrated on 19 November every year, is about inspiring action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and reach the 3.4 billion people still living without safely managed sanitation. Every year, UN-Water sets the theme for World Toilet Day. In 2026, the theme is ‘Sanitation and gender equality‘, with a campaign focusing on how access to safe and secure toilets, alongside soap, water and menstrual hygiene facilities, can protect and empower women and girls.
Think Before You Flush 10th Anniversary Celebration
This World Toilet Day the Think Before You Flush campaign is celebrating its 10th anniversary and to celebrate we are running a nationwide competition for primary schools!
This Halloween season, primary school classes are invited to create something truly horrific! Your very own FATBERG!? What is a fatberg you might ask? Its what happens in our drains when we flush wet wipes and other sanitary items down the toilet and they combine with fats and oils from cooking. You can see a real one in the image above and a model that Sarah is holding. Do you think you can do better?
The winning school will receive a special World Toilet Day visit from Clean Coasts, with music, games and fun!! Cash prizes will also be awarded. Register and find out more below:
