Think Before You Pour Video Competition 2017

Thank for your entries to the Think Before You Pour third level video competition. The judges are currently viewing the entries and we look forward to announcing the winners.

The first prize for this competition is €1000, second prize is €500 and third prize is €250. There is also a People’s Choice Prize, of €500, that will go to the video with the most public views.

Closing date extended to 5pm Tuesday December 19th

To enter the competition simply:

  • read the terms and conditions
  • become familiar with the campaign
  • make your video – videos can be presented in any genre.
  • send it to us at or by using dropbox, we transfer or google drive
  • give us a call on 01 400 2202 with any questions

REMEMBER this competition is only open to third level students

Even though soap breaks up grease, it loses its effectiveness downstream, allowing grease to solidify on the pipe walls.

One European project found that it was possible to collect 2.5 litres of FOG per household per month []

“Fatbergs” – a term that has been coined over the past decade or so to describe large conglomerations of fat, oil and grease (FOG).

It is estimated that 25% of municipal sewage treatment costs can be attributed to the FOG component (Curran, 2015)
